How far a party travels on foot in a day, using the Basic Set hiking rules (B351). A hiker covers 10 × Basic Move miles a day, adjusted for terrain and weather, and 20% more on a successful Hiking roll. The slowest hiker sets the party's pace. Roll makes new Hiking rolls.
- Calculate Distance or Time: how far you get in a number of days, or how long it takes to cover a distance in miles.
- Terrain Quality: Very Bad ×0.2, Bad ×0.5, Average ×1, Good ×1.25. Solid Ice is ×0.5, or ×1.25 on skates.
- Weather: rain halves the distance off-road; ankle-deep snow halves it and very deep snow quarters it unless you have skis; ice halves it unless you have skates.
- Highest Leadership Level: at 12 or more, the leader makes one Hiking roll for the whole party against its average skill. Otherwise each hiker rolls.
- Hikers: add a row for each hiker, with their Basic Move and Hiking skill.
